What are my favorite genres to compose in and what are my strengths as a composer?
1) The purpose of my research is to show an audience how low income families are served medically and educationally through an organization called MEDLIFE. My genres are meant to showcase the effienciency of MEDLIFE when it comes to aiding these types of families and how they go about serving them.
2) Any genre that is text based, logical, and emotional will most likely be the best mediums to share my message since the audience needs to learn about the issues of being low-income, how MEDLIFE can help, and what they do to help. For this reason, I will display my research on twitter, a flyer, and with sidewalk chalk. Twitter is known for sharing information and ideas, and that is just what MEDLIFE needs. A flyer is an old-fashioned medium that gets the job done. And sidewalk chalk displays where people can go to receive more information on the organization, rhetorically, so that is a great way to present MEDLIFE.
3) I don't think a lot of people are familiar with MEDLIFE, simply because it's an organization of campus. If they make any assumptions, I think an audience will just have doubts about how well the organization serves families in the low income community.
4) I can connect with my audience my using logic, giving them facts about the organization and tell them what they can do. I can also use emotion, showing the lack of medical care and educational services low income families receive and how MEDLIFE helps alleviate that.
5) Twitter is probably the best mode to use, since it's utilizing technology and is easily accessible.
6) My favorite genres to compose in are textual, but I also like using images and examples to appeal to the audience's intelligence and emotion. I think one of my strength's as a composer is being able to connect with an audience about my topics by being transparent and honest about the passion I have for my topics.
