Topic Question:
MEDLIFE claims they are a unique group surpasses others in serving low income families (Florida State University 2018). How does MEDLIFE at FSU achieve this goal?
"Student Organizations." Florida State University: College of Medicine, Florida State
University, 2018.
According to its members, MEDLIFE is a pre-health organization that makes it their mission to serve low-income families. They serve these families internationally by attending mobile clinics three times a year, which is put into fruition by many different participants in the organization. Student volunteers, MEDLIFE staff, and even local physicians and nurses contribute to this service to ensure the most esteemed aids are provided to these people. However, MEDLIFE sets apart its organization by stating that they exceed most establishments by upholding follow-up care and deteriorate the stigma of poor infrastructure, education, and medical attention. Locally, there are multiple community service events that take place to deliver the same care to the families around them. Due to this information, an investigation can be created based on these guidelines provided. If it is discovered that MEDLIFE successfully sustains their claims, it could inherently support the ideal that they transcend other organizations in service and education. Further information needs to be collected in order to define these low-income families and to identify exactly what demographics this organization is fulfilling. Attaining a testimony from a member, leader, or client of this organization will contribute immensely to these conclusions as well.
