Prologue:

The prologue's main question from Kestenbaum, a physicist, was that if there was more intelligent life out in the universe, then where were they? He came to his own conclusion that simply nobody else existed, which made him incredibly sad. The sadness came from the mentality that we are probably all alone in the universe, and that thought would hit him at the most random times. Scientifically, as the universe is always expanding, it would make sense that there would be life elsewhere, which is the gist of Fermi's paradox. Knowing that it's possible there is no other life is disheartening and Kestenbaum is surprised that the interviewer didn't think about this.

Act 1: The first act follows a married couple, where the wife finds out that her husband has been cheating on him, and is living a double life. This shocks her, and causes her to question how he could really love her if he did all these things to her.

Act 2: A child is asking all these questions about other forms of life, and what life exists after death. These are unusual questions for a child to ask and it's also very disheartening.

Unlike David, I am not afraid that there is nothing after death. He's a physicist, so it makes sense that he doubts there is nothing. But I have faith, and believe that there is life after death. It's something that I think about a lot actually.
